Everyone knew it was only a matter of time before World War Three broke out. Only they didn't realize what effect all those itchy trigger fingers would have on the planet. In a world that was being slowly destroyed by global warming and greed, tensions began to rise, countries began to distrust one another more and more until war broke out. In 2010 two years of cold war finally concluded in more or less every country that was able to, firing their nuclear missiles. By 2012 there were no missiles left to fire and the world was devastated.
When the dust cleared there was little left behind. 45% of the world's population died instantly in the explosions and fires or in the immediate fall out of the days later, inhaling dust and debris. A further 20% wasted away due to radiation poisoning or were simply claimed by the harsh elements as the globe was plunged into a nuclear winter. Horizon Technologies swept in to pick up the pieces. With their unfathomable resources they built the Complexes, clusters of buildings in the centre of the major cities designed to house the survivors and to keep an eye on them too. They provided medical care, radiation medication, food, water, shelter, even jobs for people within their corporation. It seems they did all this out of the goodness of their heart, out of some duty to save and ultimate rebuild the human race but there are those among the saved who are suspicious despite everything, concerns run in undercurrents of the Complexes that Horizon is not all it seems...

deliverance_rpg is set in the New York Complex in 2018, ten years from now, and six years after the Third World War ended. In that time the Complexes have been built and there is more information on those HERE. Please read all the posts before filing out the application, there's a lot of information but it's all worth reading to get an idea of the world that your character(s) will be living in.
